This is a full time position with 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday located at Scripps Green Hospital in Torrey Pines.

As part of the Scripps Health pharmacy team, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians provide a broad range of clinical services at our sites and work collaboratively with physicians, nurses and other health care team members to deliver high-quality, efficient services to patients and staff. Responsibilities include:

Works under the supervision of the Director of Pharmacy and works in conjunction with the Medication Safety Officer to support the performance and process improvement activities of the hospitals medication safety program.

Assists with the collection and compilation of medication safety data and data related to the operation of medication processes.

Monitors and audits medication processes.

Assists with implementation and the associated education and training related to changes in medication processes designed to improve safety.

Performs other medication safety support functions.

Maintains confidentiality of patient, staff, department and hospital information.

Participates in continuous quality improvement.

Performs other related administrative support functions as assigned.

Responsible for performing basic pharmacy technician duties.

Works under the supervision of registered pharmacists.
Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Required Certification/Registration:
- California Pharmacy Technician License.
- Certification by National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (CPhT) within 6 months of hire.
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
- Minimum of five years hospital inpatient pharmacy technician experience preferred.
- Minimum skills in word processing and spreadsheet software; ability to use other online software to support data analysis by the Medication Safety Officer.
