Job Description
This is a full-time position located in 4S Ranch with 8-hour shifts anytime between 6am and 6pm, including weekends. This is a partial remote position with some flexibility to work from home.

Our centralized Prior Authorization team processes prior authorizations for medications for all our clinics. The Pharmacy Prior Authorization Specialist is responsible for supporting the Scripps medication prior authorization (PA) program within the scope of pharmacy technician licensure. To be successful, the Pharmacy Prior Authorization Specialist will be comfortable working in an office setting at a desk as well as remote, and thrives working independently in reviewing patient charts and filling out prior authorization forms. This position is ideal for the experienced pharm technician who excels in a fast pace, high volume role.
Experience/Specialized Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Required Certification/Registration:
- Current Pharmacy Technician License.
- Certification by a National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (CPhT) required within 6 months of hire.
- Minimum 3 years pharmacy technician experience.
Preferred:
- 2 years of relevant medication prior authorization experience preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience with Epic
- Experience with CoverMyMeds
