Job Description

This is a benefited, part time Lead OR RN role  with a varied shift working 0900-1730. There is call that is required and the frequency depends on the department needs.

Intra-Unit: Must be a current Scripps Employee at Scripps Carmel Valley OR Department for consideration.

Responsible for the management and coordination of patient care within the specialty area. This is accomplished through the implementation and integration of the nursing process, through the assignment and supervision of nursing staff in coordination and collaboration with physicians. The Lead RN functions as the clinical expert who evaluates the clinical nursing practice within the department’s standard of care. The Lead RN participates in interviews, hiring, and orientation of nursing staff. Works closely with the Operations Manager for staff annual performance evaluation and performance improvements. Participates in systemwide meetings, quality improvement process, and reporting. The Lead RN works collaboratively with other members of the team for optimal patient care delivery.

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills: Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing. Three years or more experience in nursing required. 

Required Certification/Registration: Current CA RN License and American Heart Association BLS required in a clinical setting. F For all ASC and Cardiology departments, Minor Surgery, Urgent Care, Gastroenterology, and the Dean Ornish Program: American Heart Association ACLS is required. For Urgent Care: American Heart Association PALS is required. 

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification: Bachelor’s degree in nursing. Preferred recent Registered Nurse experience in an acute care setting or procedural unit. Prior demonstrated leadership skills in special projects or charge nurse duties highly preferred.

Position Pay Range: $59.75-$86.53/hour

Please also note this range is applicable for employees who reside in California only. A geographical pay differential may be applied for remote employees who reside out of state.
