Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista provides a variety of medical and surgical services, including inpatient and outpatient care. Within the hospital you’ll find our 24-hour emergency room and many other specialty services ranging from cancer care to stroke care.
Job Description

Join a caring team supporting Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista as a Volunteer Coordinator in the Volunteer Services department. You’ll be on the front line for creating a positive Scripps Health experience for our patients while being responsible for duties such as the following:
The Volunteer Coordinator supports the department by onboarding incoming volunteers and training them to support their assigned departments, manage the volunteer schedule to ensure there is always coverage, and is responsible for organizing volunteer events. A further breakdown of duties includes:
- Oversight, on average, of 175 active volunteers.
- Maintaining schedules and tracking attendance.
- Maintaining volunteer personnel files.
- Tracking mandatory compliance throughout the year.
- Overseeing the onboarding process of new volunteers: screening /vetting applications, interviewing, orientation, and placements.
Required Qualifications:
- Organization, management, good people skills, word processing, data management, event organization, merchandising.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
