For more than 20 years, the medical team at Scripps Green Hospital has delivered expert, life-saving care to patients in need of organ transplantation, earning recognition as one of Southern California’s premier transplant centers. Our program is led by nationally recognized transplant surgeons, hepatologists, and nephrologists specializing in liver, kidney, and pancreas transplantation, supported by a highly skilled team dedicated to the complex needs of solid organ transplant patients.

Scripps Green Hospital also serves as the Dedicated Recovery Center for the local Organ Procurement Organization (OPO), underscoring our commitment to excellence in transplant care. In this role, you’ll join a collaborative, multidisciplinary transplant team that values professional growth, teamwork, and shared accountability for outstanding patient outcomes. Located in La Jolla, San Diego, this opportunity offers a rare combination of meaningful work and an exceptional quality of life.

What you will do:

Ø    As Quality Coordinator RN, you will manage publicly reported and other significant quality measures and performance improvement activities in collaboration with administrative, clinical and physician leadership for their assigned service line. 

Ø    Perform concurrent review of medical records for core measures and other clinical indicators based on established definitions and provides real time feedback and intervention with clinical staff and physicians to ensure optimal quality patient care.

Ø    Abstract records based on established indicators of the medical staff for peer review for assigned populations; facilitates the peer review process, ongoing physician performance review and decision support for medical staff reappointment.

Required Qualifications:

·         Minimum of 5 years acute care experience, preferably within transplant critical care, hepatology, nephrology, or surgery.

·         Requires attention to detail, analytical skills, excellent communication skills, and intermediate computer skills.

·         Previous experience in quality improvement methods and tools (PDSA, Lean, Six Sigma concepts), performance improvement projects, and/or adverse event reviews and reporting preferred.

·         Direct experience with transplant program operations, quality, or regulatory compliance preferred

·         Experience abstracting, validating, and analyzing clinical data

·         Ability to present quality data to transplant leadership, physicians, and administrators

 

Required Certification/Registration:

·         CA RN required.

 

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:

·         Quality (CPHQ, Lean Six Sigma)

·         Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.

Position Pay Range: $59.81-$86.71/hour

Please also note this range is applicable for employees who reside in California only. A geographical pay differential may be applied for remote employees who reside out of state.
