Scripps Green Hospital is attached to Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines. Together we offer dozens of medical and surgical services, including cancer care, orthopedic surgery and organ transplantation.

Job Description

This is a full time, benefited, exempt OR RN Supervisor position. The shift is 5 days with an 8  hour shift (0645-1515) and flexibility to cover leadership and a rotating administrative call responsibilities on the weekend.

This position is eligible for a New Hire Bonus up to $8.5K, and the Supervisor incentive compensation plan.

Scripps Green is a 173-bed hospital that has served the La Jolla and greater San Diego communities with distinction since 1977. 

Join our Scripps Green Hospital Operating Room team where you will be amongst a team dedicated to creating an environment that is focused on restoring function and optimizing care, while maintaining the respect, autonomy and individuality of every patient.    

As a Supervisor of the 12 suite Operating Rooms you will work with the OR team to ensure the nursing practice reflects established standards of care and practice and a culture that promotes patient safety. Under the general direction of the Patient Care Manager, shares leadership responsibilities for the nursing unit, including managing daily staffing plans. Ensures the safe transition of patients thru the continuum of care to include active participation of nursing staff in planning and coordinating patient care, and direct hand-off to next appropriate level of care. Scripps Green manages 12 surgical specialties therefore it is important that you will have a knowledge of multiple service lines including ortho, neuro, robotics, vascular, plastics and urology.

·         Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter.

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills       

·       CA RN License

·       Two years OR RN experience and One year in a leadership role. 

·       Excellent skills in communication, problem-solving, team development, planning and follow-through.

·       Ability to exercise the authority and responsibility for assigned services based on the scope of the organization and complexity of patient care. Graduate of an accredited program.   

·      Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider and all competencies/certifications required of the charge RN on the unit.

                    

Preferred Qualifications:

·         5 years OR experience

·         2 years leadership experience

·         BSN and/or certification in area of specialty if applicable.

·         CNOR

Position Pay Range: $63.50-$91.97/hour

Please also note this range is applicable for employees who reside in California only. A geographical pay differential may be applied for remote employees who reside out of state.
