Job Description

This position is full time with evening shifts. Hours are primarily 2:30pm-11pm, but may adjust depending on needs. Weekend schedule is once every 4 weeks. Includes $4,000 retention and $4,500 relocation incentives for eligible new hires. Eligible to participate in the Management Incentive Compensation Plan.

To be successful, the Laboratory Supervisor will be a positive, motivated, change leader, able to provide excellent customer service to our healthcare partners.

The Laboratory Supervisor will:

  • Oversee all personnel on evening and night shifts (Clinical Lab Scientists, Medical Laboratory Technicians, Certified Phlebotomy Technicians and Pathology Assistants)
  • Oversee all technical aspects of Microbiology
  • Manage performance evaluations, provide direct one-on-one coaching and training for new hires
  • Lead process improvements
  • Serve as the lab liaison for physicians and nurses
  • Bench coverage as needed

 The following are not eligible for hiring incentives:

  • Internal candidates
  • Rehires that left Scripps less than 3 years ago
  • Candidates with less than 1 year of experience

 

In order to remain eligible for your retention incentive the following criteria must be met:

  • Must remain in original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in offer letter)
  • Must remain in original department/specialty
  • Must remain in original Job Title
  • Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter.

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 5 Years experience in lab services
  • 1.5 years as a Clinical Lab Scientist
  • California CLS (MTA) license

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:

  • Inpatient experience as a generalist Clinical Lab Scientist
  • Supervisor experience
  • 2 years of experience as a Clinical Lab Scientist

Position Pay Range: $60.53-$87.94/hour

Please note that actual pay will be determined based on relevant experience and internal equity within the pay range. Please also note this range is applicable for employees who reside in California only. A geographical pay differential may be applied for remote employees who reside out of state.
