Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas’ campus includes Scripps Clinic Encinitas and an outpatient imaging center. We’re home to notable specialty programs including a 24-hour emergency room, accredited stroke care, physical rehabilitation services (including a brain injury day treatment program), our Baby Friendly birthing pavilion and a Level II neonatal intensive care unit.

Job Description

Ensures operating rooms are ready for surgery, including all case-specific supplies and equipment are sterile and ready for use. Monitors sterile field throughout procedure. Scrubs for all surgical cases including multiple specialties, and acts as the lead for at least one specialty. Takes initiative to utilize appropriate support services to resolve issues. Organizes room cleanup and ensures efficient room turnover, including decontaminating equipment as necessary. Coordinates outside vendors, positions and transports patients and trains others that work in the operating room. Maintains physician preference cards. Acts as a liaison with other departments. Coordinates upcoming schedules with physicians, RN’s and others involved in the surgical cases. Other duties as assigned to ensure smooth operations in surgical services

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills: Three years recent experience in the operating room required. Technical competence in multiple surgical services. Ability to organize multiple tasks and prioritize appropriately. Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills. Detail oriented and able work well in a fast-paced, high stress environment. Able to train and coach others.

Required Certification/Registration: Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider required

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:Current CST

Position Pay Range: $35.39-$51.41/hour
