Job Description
This is a benefited, part time position (64 hours every 2 weeks) working 8-hr varied shifts. This position will mostly work 11:30am-8pm on varied days, but clinic hours are every day between 7am-8pm so hours will vary as needed. Located at Scripps Memorial Hospital, La Jolla.

What you’ll do:
- Assist with casting and splinting while providing exceptional patient care.
- Work with a multi-disciplinary team.
- Perform and assist with patient assessments and technical skills to accurately assess the status of each patient, including procedures as appropriate.
- Evaluate patients and document patient interaction.
- Practice infection control.
- Contribute to the team as necessary to ensure quality patient care.

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
- General working knowledge of casting and splint application and removal.
- Knowledge of universal precautions.
- Knowledge of sterile field maintenance and instrument sterility.
- Technical competency in casting skills, suture removal as measured by OTC; basic wound dressing application.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good English language skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to speak in person and on the telephone; read and follow instructions in English.
- Patient concern and sensitivity.
Required Certification/Registration:
- Current OTC certification.
- Current BLS from the American Heart Association.
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
- Prefer one or more years of experience in an orthopedic clinic or or related ortho field.
- Team player, flexible, willing to accommodate multiple different provider styles.
