Job Description
This is a benefited, full time position generally working Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm but will flex as needed. Saturday rotation required as needed. Located at Scripps Clinic Rancho Bernardo.

What you’ll do:
- All Medical Assistant duties
- Manage onboarding process for all new employees
- Responsible for providing technical support to Medical Assistant staff in a clinic site or physician module to include the following:
- training
- assurance of consistency and standardization of procedures
- management of day-to-day staff coverage arrangements to ensure excellent patient care
- staff performance management
- serve as a mentor to staff
- special Primary Care projects as assigned
- Responsible for covering, as well as mentoring, new and existing staff on clinical processes and procedures
- Responsible for review of new and existing staff documentation and charge documents for completion and accuracy
- Practice within the scope of a Medical Assistant and contribute to the team as necessary to ensure quality patient care
- Responsible for troubleshooting/problem solving to ensure flow of the clinic is smooth
- Provide breaks/coverage as needed
- Make sure clinic staff is on task
- Ensure that compliance with Point of Care Training is up to date
- Assist in patient recovery
- Provide leadership support
- Monitor Monthly Compliance
- Handle patient escalations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
- Certified Medical Assistant or Military Corpsman, plus two years applicable clinical experience.
- Requires excellent skills in communication, problem-solving, team development, planning and follow-through.
- Ability to exercise the authority and responsibility for assigned services based on the scope of the organization and complexity of patient care.
Required Certification/Registration:
- Completion of a formal Medical Assistant program or Military Corpsman program pursuant to the Division of Allied Health Professions.
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS required in clinical setting.
Preferred skills and qualifications:
- Experience in a same-day clinic environment
- Point of care testing (urinalysis, strep and covid swabs, vaccines, etc)
