Job Description
This is a full time, benefited position generally working Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. Hours will vary as needed. Located at Scripps Coastal Medical Center in Encinitas. This is an exempt and salaried position eligible for the Management Incentive Compensation Plan (MICP) at the Supervisor level.

What you’ll do:
- Manage daily staffing for assigned clinic operations in OBGYN for both clinical and clerical staff.
- Works to ensure patient safety and contributes to patient satisfaction and achieving quality metrics.
- Reports out on finances, patient satisfaction, quality metrics and employee engagement.
- Coverage on floor as needed.
- Ensure nursing practice reflects established standards of care and practice and a culture that promotes patient safety.
- Ensure the safe transition of patients through the continuum of care to include active participation of nursing staff in planning and coordinating patient care, and direct hand-off to next appropriate level of care.
- Under the general direction of the Manager/Director, shares leadership responsibilities for the clinical staff and support staff, including managing daily staffing plans.
- Be responsible for managing and maintaining schedules for optimal efficiency.
- Works in partnership with Management and Physicians to ensure quality and efficiency in the management of patient care.
- Management and development of clinical staff.
- Contributes to operations management of assigned business unit(s).
- Participates in budget planning and management.
- Take proactive initiative in quality management.

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
- Certified MA plus two years applicable clinical experience.
- Requires excellent skills in communication, problem-solving, team development, planning and follow-through.
- Ability to exercise the authority and responsibility for assigned services based on the scope of the organization and complexity of patient care.
Required Certification/Registration:
- Completion of a formal Medical Assistant program or Military Corpsman program pursuant to the Division of Allied Health Professions.
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification.
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
- Supervisor and above experience.
- Leadership experience.
- 5+ years of experience as an MA.
- Strong clinical background.
