Job Description

This is a Full time, benefitted day shift position as an RN in PreOp/Endoscopy. The shift will be 3 ( 10.25 hours) and 1 ( 9.25 hours) The hours vary, but could start as early as 0500.  It is located at Memorial Hospital in Encinitas. There is Call to cover Endoscopy and it consists of one weekend every 6 weeks ( either a Saturday or a Sunday call- 24hours) and 2 weeknights calls every month ( from the end of a case to 0630 the next day). You will be cross trained to cover areas like IAU/Cath Lab and possibly recover phase 2 patients.

Join Scripps Encinitas Surgery Team as an RN  where you will be amongst a team that is dedicated to creating an environment that is focused on restoring function and optimizing care, while maintaining the respect, autonomy and individuality of every patient.  The ideal candidate will have strong assessment skills and the ability to adapt to suit the needs of the unit. 

Responsibilities include:

  • ·         Providing direct patient care within the scope of your practice.
  • ·         Patient care includes assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care, and evaluating patients’ progress towards expected outcomes.
  • ·         With quality patient and family-centered care in mind, the RN takes primary responsibility for the patients’ care as delivered by the Care Team under their  supervision.
  • ·         Work collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.

Required:

  • Registered nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing
  • One (1) year of RN experience in an acute care setting
  • California Registered Nurse License
  • Current American Heart Association BLS provider certifications
  • Ability to speak, read, and follow instructions in English
  • Ability to demonstrate positive behaviors, Excellent interpersonal skills.

 Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing
  • 2 Years Pre-Op experience strongly preferred
  • 1 Year Endoscopy experience strongly preferred
  • 1 year of Med Surg/Critical Care experience

Position Pay Range: $58.00-$84.00/hour
