Medical Assistant – Per Diem – Employee Care Clinic

This is a Per Diem/Casual, non-benefited position working 10-hr shifts on varied weekdays, generally from 6:30am-5pm. Depending on department needs, shift start times may vary. Ideally you will work two days per week. Potential to float between both Employee Care Clinics located in La Jolla (Poole Building) and Hillcrest (Scripps Mercy Hospital).

Your job duties:

• Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures
• Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols
• Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment
• Organizes and performs patient care services that support the provider’s practice
• Relaying instructions from the provider to the patient or authorized person
• Collecting patient data in person and by phone
• Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician’s review
• Administering medications specifically directed by the provider
• Scheduling of appointments and procedures
• Complete and accurate message taking
• Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction
• Order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications
• Setting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics
