Scripps Mercy Hospital has served central and downtown San Diego since 1890 and is the oldest medical center in the county. The San Diego campus is located near the corner of 5th Avenue and Washington Street in Hillcrest.

Scripps Mercy Hospital consists of two campuses in San Diego and Chula Vista. 

Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego’s campus includes the O’Toole Breast Care Center, a 24-hour emergency room that is a Level I Trauma Center, outpatient physical rehabilitation, minimally invasive robotic surgery and our childbirth unit (including a Level II neonatal intensive care unit).

Job Description

This is a Full Time, benefitted, salaried role as a Respiratory Therapist (RCP) Supervisor at Mercy San Diego. The shift is a varied shift but generally will be for night shift. There could be occasional weekend call to meet department needs.

This position is eligible for the Supervisor incentive compensation plan.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Oversee daily operations of assigned respiratory therapy department. 
    • Participate in and support efforts to standardize care and reduce variation.
    • Assist in implementation of system wide standardization efforts

    Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:

    • Graduate of accredited respiratory Therapy School 
    • Three years of RCP experience.

    Required Certification/Registration:

    • California RCP license
    • RRT required 
    • BLS certified through the American Heart Association

    Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:

    • Bachelors/Masters degree preferred.
    • ACLS and PALS certification preferred.
    • Critical care strongly preferred
    • NICU experience is preferred
    • Leadership experience (Charge)

    Position Pay Range: $49.79-$72.35/hour

Please also note this range is applicable for employees who reside in California only. A geographical pay differential may be applied for remote employees who reside out of state.
