Medical Assistant – Internal Medicine – Anderson Medical Pavilion

This is a benefited, full time position generally working Monday-Friday from 8:30am-5:30pm. Shift times may vary as needed. No evenings or weekends. Located at the Anderson Medical Pavilion in La Jolla. This is a dual role working both front and back office duties (i.e. clinical and clerical tasks).

What you’ll do: 

• This is a dual role with both clinical and administrative aspects
• Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures
• Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols
• Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment
• Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician’s practice
• Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person
• Collecting patient data in person and by phone
• Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician’s review
• Administering medications specifically directed by the physician
• Scheduling of appointments and procedures
• Complete and accurate message taking
• Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction
• Order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications
• Setting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics
