This is a Full-Time Salaried Day Shift position at Scripps Mercy San Diego campus in the community of Hillcrest.
Founded in 1890 by the Sisters of Mercy, Scripps Mercy Hospital (Level I Trauma Center) is San Diego’s longest established hospital, the only Catholic medical center and the largest teaching hospital in the region located in the heart of Hillcrest.
Join our highly engaged 32 bed ICU team as a Supervisor of Patient Care. Our critical-care nurses working at Scripps Health Mercy San Diego, is a team of skilled medical professionals who provide superior health services in a caring environment. The Scripps Health team is dedicated to making a positive, measurable difference in the health of individuals in the communities we serve. Our ICU has high acuity cases in medical, surgical, medical-cardiac, cardiothoracic-surgical, respiratory, neuro-trauma and trauma. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of Adult ICU RN experience in addition to 1 year of clinical leadership experience. The Supervisor role includes a combination of Charge Nurse and Administrative duties while working a combination of 12 and 8 hour shifts.

• Ensures nursing practice reflects established standards of care and practice and a culture that promotes patient safety.
• Under the general direction of the Patient Care Manager, shares leadership responsibilities for the nursing unit, including managing daily staffing plans.
• Ensures appropriate and timely use of bed placement technology and adherence to care processes for bed placement/patient transfer/patient transport/room cleaning and patient discharge.
• Ensures the safe transition of patients thru the continuum of care to include active participation of nursing staff in planning and coordinating patient care, and direct hand-off to next appropriate level of care.

Requirements
Required Qualifications:
• Registered Nursing Degree from an Accredited School of Nursing
• Two (2) years Adult ICU RN experience
• One (1) year of Clinical Leadership experience
• Current CA State RN license
• American Heart Association BLS & ACLS certification
• Have excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrate positive behaviors
• Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English
Preferred Qualifications:
• One (1) year of ICU RN experience in a Level I Trauma Hospital
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
• AACN Certification
