Job Description
This is a full time position with day shifts at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla. Shifts are 10 hours, generally starting at 6am.

As part of the Scripps Health pharmacy team, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians provide a broad range of clinical services at our sites and work collaboratively with physicians, nurses and other health care team members to deliver high-quality, efficient services to patients and staff. They enjoy a practice environment that offers state-of-the-art technology and innovative tools in a collaborative and supportive workplace. Staff and leadership work side by side each day to improve processes and solve problems, all to provide quality service to patients.
Responsibilities include:
- Monthly environmental sampling
- Competency assessment for compounding personnel
- Training of new staff
- Training of EVS staff to clean the IV rooms
- Monitoring staff compliance with proper compounding technique
- Auditing for compliance with standard work and regulatory compliance
Experience/Specialized Skills:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
Required Certification/Registration:
· Current Pharmacy Technician License.
· Certification by a National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (CPhT) required within 6 months of hire.
· Minimum 2 years pharmacy technician experience.
Required Education/Course(s)/Training:
· 5 years inpatient experience preferred
