This is a Full Time, 12-Hour Night Shift, position located at Scripps Mercy Chula Vista.
We invite you to join our Emergency Services Department at Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista where we offer 24-hour emergency care. Mercy Chula Vista serves San Diego County’s fast–growing South Bay communities, including Otay Mesa, National City, Imperial Beach and Bonita. Scripps Mercy Hospital, Chula Vista, Emergency Services Department is at the forefront of innovative processes to reduce patient wait times, first to run a code sepsis and was the model cell for all Scripps Health Emergency Departments. Join our 24 bed Emergency Services Department as a Registered Nurse (RN) where you will provide direct patient care within the scope of practice. Patient care includes assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care and evaluating patients’ progress towards expected outcomes. The RN takes primary responsibility for the patients’ care as delivered by the Care Team under his/her supervision. Works collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.

In order to remain eligible for your retention incentive the following criteria must be met:
- Must remain in original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in offer letter)
- Must remain in original department/specialty
- Must remain in original Job Title
- Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter.
Position Pay Range:
In compliance with the California Pay Transparency Act, Scripps Health posts the pay range for all jobs. Please note that actual pay will be determined based on relevant experience and internal equity within the pay range. Please also note this range is applicable for employees who reside in California only. A geographical pay differential may be applied for remote employees who reside out of state. Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Registered Nursing Degree from an Accredited School of Nursing
- Active California RN license
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP Healthcare Provider Certifications through American Heart Association
- 1 year of recent RN experience in an Adult Emergency Services department
- Have excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrate positive behaviors
- Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing
- CEN – Certified Emergency Nursing
