“In July 2020, I, along with thousands of Hospitality workers in San Diego were furloughed due to the pandemic as the hotels and restaurants we worked at were shut down. I was eager to find a way to serve my community using my hospitality skills. I decided that Scripps was the right organization for me because it puts people (patients) first. Although I was in food & beverage / hospitality for over 20 years, switching careers to health care has been one of the best decisions I ever made. I have never looked back. I have been privileged to work alongside and under the most approachable, empathetic, encouraging and motivating leaders and peers. I have witnessed through mine and other’s challenging situations how the entire team “circles the wagon” and we take things on together.”
