“We recommend taking some time to complete the tips below,” recommends Eric Cole, corporate senior vice president of human resources at Scripps Health. “The more you know about our organization, the position you’re applying for and why you’re the best candidate to fill it, the more impressive you’ll be in the interview.”

Know your resume: Ensure your resume is current and accurately reflects your strongest qualifications. Be ready to discuss accomplishments, metrics, and projects in detail.
Prepare examples using the STAR Framework to give clear, concrete examples during your interview:
- S – Situation: Set the stage with context. Explain where you were working, what the challenge or project was, and who was involved. Be specific but concise—aim for one or two sentences.
- T – Task: Describe your responsibility or goal in that situation. What specifically did you do? Clarify your role (even if it was a team project).
- A – Action: Explain the specific steps you took to address the situation. Focus on your contributions, skills and decision-making.
- R – Result: Share the outcome and any measurable impact. Quantify whenever possible, using appropriate measurements (e.g., percentages, savings, satisfaction scores).
Expect behavioral questions: These explore how you work with others and handle challenges. Questions may ask about initiative, mistakes, high-pressure situations, prioritization, or difficult interactions.
HireVue On-Demand or Text Interview: Within 72 hours, you may receive an On-Demand Video Interview or Text Questionnaire via HireVue. Regardless of the format, be ready to show how you connect with the Scripps Health mission, vision, and values.

- Provide answers that are authentic, specific, and recent.
Test your technology: If your interview is virtual, ensure your audio, video, Wi-Fi, and background are stable and professional to prevent technical issues.
