Job Description

This is a benefit-eligible, part-time position (48 hours every two weeks), working 12-hour day shifts and located at Scripps Green Hospital in Torrey Pines.

Join our team of Patient Care Assistants in our Surgical Acute department at Scripps Green Hospital San Diego, located in the central coastal community of La Jolla. Scripps Green has been serving San Diego County since 1977 and has several nationally ranked specialty departments. The ideal candidate will be someone who brings a positive energy and is committed to delivering exceptional patient care. Primary responsibilities will be performing EKGs, taking vitals, patient transport, and assisting patients with activities of daily living.

The general duties of the Patient Care Assistant include:

  • Provides excellent service to patients as a key member of the clinical care team
  • Assists patients with personal needs and activities of daily living, collects data, and ensures the patient has a safe, organized environment
  • Assists with patient care within the scope permitted and under the direction of a clinician
  • Supports the unit with a variety of patient logistic, clerical, equipment/supply, and charge reconciliation duties

Required Qualifications:

  • One year of recent experience working under the license of a licensed healthcare provider OR current enrollment or completion of Nursing Assistant training from a recognized school OR current enrollment in an RN program with completion of the second semester, including nursing fundamentals
  • Must be able to speak, read and follow instruction in English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a service aptitude
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care provider

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CNA certification
  • One-year patient related experience preferred

Position Pay Range: $25.48-$30.89/hour

Please also note this range is applicable for employees who reside in California only. A geographical pay differential may be applied for remote employees who reside out of state.
