Job Description
This is a full time, hourly position with 8 hour day shifts anytime between 8:30 am and 6:00 pm in Encinitas, generally Monday through Friday. Eligible for the management incentive compensation plan. Includes $4,000 retention incentive and $4,500 relocation assistance for eligible new hires.

Scripps Health operates three convenient outpatient pharmacy locations on the campuses of Scripps Green Hospital in La Jolla, Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas, and Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego. Our pharmacies fill new and refill prescriptions and offer a Meds-to-Beds service to ensure patients discharged from our hospitals receive their prescribed medications prior to leaving the facility.
Our knowledgeable team of pharmacists and support staff provide personalized consultations on medication use and expert guidance on over-the-counter (OTC) products—delivering exceptional service and support to help patients manage their health with confidence and convenience.
The Pharmacist in Charge will be a leader at our site at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas, confident in decision making, problem solving and developing policies.
Responsibilities include:
· Under the direction of the Manager or Director of Pharmacy Services, the Supervisor Pharmacist-In-Charge is responsible for the oversight, management, and operational functions of the pharmacy.
· This role ensures the effective use of system resources, maintains regulatory compliance, upholds quality assurance standards, and delivers excellent patient care.
· The Supervisor Pharmacist-In-Charge directs and supervises pharmacy staff, participates in hiring processes, oversees daily productivity, creates staffing schedules, and ensures adherence to policies and procedures.
· The Supervisor Pharmacist-In-Charge is responsible for the development and performance management of pharmacy staff.
· This role also establishes meaningful solutions to drive performance and growth and successfully implements strategic initiatives set forth by pharmacy leadership.
· The Supervisor Pharmacist-In-Charge will oversee the day-to-day processing of prescriptions.
· Any issues that are unable to be resolved by the Supervisor Pharmacist-In-Charge will be escalated to the Manager or Director of Pharmacy Services to be resolved.

In order to remain eligible for your retention incentive the following criteria must be met:
- Must remain in original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in offer letter)
- Must remain in original department/specialty
- Must remain in original Job Title
- Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter.
Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree (BS), Doctoral degree (PharmD), or equivalent in Pharmacy.
- 2 years of experience as a practicing pharmacist.
- Experience handling and processing insurances.
Required Certification/Registration:
- Current California Pharmacist License
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
- 5 years of experience as full-time pharmacist
- 2 years of experience as a supervisor in a retail/community pharmacy setting
