Job Description

This is a Full time, benefited RCP position on the Resource team. The position has varied shifts.

Our Scripps System-wide Resource Services (SSRS) department supports the entire Scripps Health system.  As a member of the team, you can fill vital roles on assignments throughout the system to provide critical coverage for employee’s leave of absences, sick calls, and peak service demands while gaining experience in a variety of environments.

Join our Scripps SSRS team as a Respiratory Therapist where you will provide direct patient care within the scope of your practice. This includes the following:  In collaboration with other caregivers, assesses, plans, implements and evaluates actions for respiratory care. Performs all technical diagnostic and therapeutic procedures related to respiratory care. Performs other core responsibilities necessary to maintain the flow of patient care and comfort in the unit. Responds to critical situations. Utilizes computer systems in performing position duties. Adheres to Hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Participates in Quality Control, preventative maintenance and performance improvement activities.

The type of opportunity for this job posting is as follows:

  • SYSTEM WIDE RESOURCE TEAM – Permanent Scripps employees who support long-term assignments, typically 12 weeks in duration

Required Qualifications:

  • One (1) or more years RCP acute care experience.
  • Current California RCP license required
  • Current American Heart Association BLS
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Enjoys working with the public.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and follow instructions in English.
  • Technically competent in the department skills inventory.
  • Computer literate.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate of one or two year AMA School of Respiratory Care.
  • NRP Certification
  • NICU Experience 

Travel Requirements: 

  • Work between the five (5) Scripps Health hospital campuses: Encinitas, La Jolla, Torrey Pines, San Diego, and Chula Vista.

Position Pay Range: $42.51-$61.62/hour

In compliance with the California Pay Transparency Act, Scripps Health posts the pay range for all jobs. Please note that actual pay will be determined based on relevant experience and internal equity within the pay range. Please also note this range is applicable for employees who reside in California only. A geographical pay differential may be applied for remote employees who reside out of state.
