Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego’s campus includes the O’Toole Breast Care Center, a 24-hour emergency room that is a Level I Trauma Center, outpatient physical rehabilitation, minimally invasive robotic surgery and our childbirth unit (including a Level II neonatal intensive care unit).

Job Description

This is a full time, salaried position. Primarily work from home (must reside in San Diego area) with on-site as needed.

The 340B Drug Pricing Program at Scripps Mercy Hospital allows us to purchase outpatient drugs at a reduced price, allowing us to stretch scarce federal resources as far as possible, reaching more eligible patients and providing more comprehensive services. With the growth of our program, we are looking for a Pharmacy 340B Program Specialist to join the team. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversight and the day to day management of the 340B program to meet regulatory requirements as dictated by the Office of Pharmacy Affairs.
  • Participates in department strategic planning and contributes to its success through effective communication and use of resources.
  • Provides functional expertise essential to staff and leadership.
  • Ensures expenses do not exceed budget.
  • Participates in standards of practice and process improvement activities.

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills: 

  • CPhT with 5 years of experience, 1 of which as a 340B analyst, auditor, and/or manager or Bachelor’s degree in health sciences with 3 years of experience as stated above. 
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of project management, process redesign, and/or continuous quality improvement related methodology and tools. 
  • Experience in leading and facilitating work teams. 
  • Is a systems thinker with strong organizational skills. 
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency in presentation, word processing, and data software programs. 
  • Strong skills in group facilitation and presentations with groups ranging in size from 10-100. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple details. 
  • Strong skills in developing and maintaining positive interpersonal relationships with all levels of employees, managers, and executives. 
  • Able to represent Scripps with internal and external customers in a professional manner.

    Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification: 340B ACE Certification.

Position Pay Range: $44.63-$64.71/hour

Please note that actual pay will be determined based on relevant experience and internal equity within the pay range. Please also note this range is applicable for employees who reside in California only. A geographical pay differential may be applied for remote employees who reside out of state.
