Located on the Torrey Pines Mesa near I-5 and Genesee Avenue in La Jolla, Scripps Green Hospital has served the greater San Diego community since 1977. We provide some of the region’s best care, including several nationally ranked specialty programs.

Scripps Green Hospital is attached to Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines. Together we offer dozens of medical and surgical services, including cancer care, orthopedic surgery and organ transplantation.

Job Description

This position is located at our Scripps Green campus in the Torrey Pines area, Monday – Friday 8am-4:30pm. This role is grant funded for 5 years.

The Research Assistant I is an entry level role, ideal for a recent college graduate with experience with specimen processing and data collection.

Duties include:

  • Helps coordinate multiple aspects of clinical trials and other human research ensuring compliance with research protocol and IRB requirements.
  • Manages regulatory documents and data submission, assists with IRB submissions, responsible for keeping internal data tracking systems up to date.
  • Provides superior service to principal investigators and research sponsors within scope of responsibilities. 

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required.
  • 1-2 years experience in a research setting.
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office software.
  • Organized and detailed oriented.
  • Strong motivator/communicator in a compact clinical team working with aggressive timelines. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Medical assistant certificate or Certified Nursing assistant preferred, California phlebotomist preferred.
  • 2 years research training.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).

Position Pay Range: $25.40-$33.15/hour

Please note that actual pay will be determined based on relevant experience and internal equity within the pay range. Please also note this range is applicable for employees who reside in California only. A geographical pay differential may be applied for remote employees who reside out of state.
