Scripps Mercy Hospital consists of two campuses in San Diego and Chula Vista.
Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego’s campus includes the O’Toole Breast Care Center, a 24-hour emergency room that is a Level I Trauma Center, outpatient physical rehabilitation, minimally invasive robotic surgery and our childbirth unit (including a Level II neonatal intensive care unit).
Job Description
This is a Full-Time (72 hours per pay period) position with a 12-hour night shift schedule on variable days of the week that includes weekends and holidays.

Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego is located in the heart of Hillcrest. Founded in 1890 by the Sisters of Mercy, Scripps Mercy Hospital is San Diego’s longest established hospital, the only Catholic medical center and the largest teaching hospital in the region located in the heart of Hillcrest.
We invite you to join our highly engaged Mother/Baby team of Registered Nurses who are responsible for providing direct patient care within the scope of his/her practice.
Patient care includes assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care and evaluating patients’ progress towards expected outcomes.
- The RN takes primary responsibility for the patients’ care as delivered by the Care Team under his/her supervision.
- Works collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.

- Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring Certification from AWHONN or NCC preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
- At least 1 year of acute care RN experience within a postpartum unit in an acute care hospital setting.
- Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors.
Required Certification/Registration:
- Current CA RN License
- Current American Heart Association BLS provider Certification
- NRP Certification
- Registered nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing.

- Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter.
