Scripps WIC is one of the founding WIC agencies in San Diego, over 30 years ago. With a department of under 20 staff, Management is very supportive and hands in supporting staff and being there with their front line team. WIC Program provides services to around 6500 participants a month!
The Supervisor position is Clinical Management and Administrative Management combined in one role with overseeing a team of 14-15 employees. Functions in the capacity of Registered Dietitian and provides direct client services. Responsible for provision of quality control in education and direct client services, staff training, and development. Responsible of maintaining compliance with California State WIC and Scripps policies and procedures. Staff supervision. Mentor and coach clinic RD's. Responsible for the State WIC Nutrition Service Plan related to client and staff education. Apply Participant Centered Education skills and techniques in delivering internal and external client services.
Full-Time 8 hour DAY shift position - Monday-Friday non-hourly (EXEMPT) requiring coverage on Saturday's as needed.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:
 
•         Active Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD,RDN) certification

•         Bachelor's Degree in Food and Nutrition Services, Nutrition Sciences or Dietetics from an accredited education program approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)

•        Completion of a dietetic internship or other training program approved by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
•        Two (2) years' experience in providing nutrition services in a community-based environment, developing curriculum using adult learning theory and methods, and supervising employees
 
Preferred Qualifications:
 
•         Master's degree in Public Health Nutrition, Nutrition Science, Education or Administration

•         Certified Lactation Educator or Consultant

•         Leadership experience

•         Knowledge health promotion and disease prevention relevant to women, infants and preschool-age children

•         Bilingual/Spanish
