In a clinic setting under the guidance and support of the WIC Dietitian, determines WIC program eligibility. Provides nutrition care service (as directed by the local agency annual Nutrition Services Plan) to perinatal women, and to the parents/legal guardians/caregivers of newborn to preschool-age children in accordance with the policies and practices outlined in the WIC Program Manual.
Participate in productive interpersonal communications; adapt easily to policy changes; draw upon available resources for necessary information use good judgment when atypical circumstances arise; present a professional image exercise patience and tact in all situations; maintain accurate records and prepare simple reports; working in a fast-paced environment, compare names and numbers rapidly and accurately; perform basic mathematical functions
Full-Time 8 hour DAY shift position that includes working on Saturday’s as needed

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:  
•       Two year Associate Degree with Dietetic Technician (DTR) credentialing by the Commission on Dietetic Registration or four year Baccalaureate Degree in Food and Nutrition Services, Nutrition Sciences or Dietetics from an accredited college or university
•       Those DRT-Credential are expected to maintain such status with appropriate continuing education and completes State WIC Branch WIC Nutrition Assistant, (WNA), certification within eight months of hire
•        Minimum 1 year experience in a community based organization providing nutrition education in a group or individual setting
•       Strong customer service skills 
 
Preferred Qualifications:
•         Bilingual English/Spanish
•         Mastered Degreed Nutritionist in a clinical nutrition- related field
•        Those who have a BS in Dietetics, obtained the Verification Statement of Completion of    academic requirements (Dietetic Program in Dietetics  or DPD) approved by the American Dietetic Association (ADA), Certified Lactation Educator Certification, Certified Lactation Counselors- certification maintained such status with appropriate continuing education
