Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas has served the growing communities of San Diego’s coastal North County since 1978. The Telemetry Technician works under the supervision and direction of the Manager and/or Charge Nurse. The Telemetry Technician observes patients' cardiac monitoring and reports rhythm changes and arrhythmia's to primary nurse and/or charge nurse; documents arrhythmia's and records rhythm strips and other data per policy; maintains telemetry equipment; performs 12 lead EKG's; and performs clerical duties as directed by charge nurse and/or Manager. The Telemetry Technician maintains own competency and mandatory education requirements, as well as, demonstrates ability to perform competencies as outlined in the Telemetry Competency Assessment tools. This individual will demonstrate age-specific care as established for area and job title.
 
This is a Night Shift, Part Time (0.9 FTE - 72 hours per pay period) position.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Able to speak, read and follow instructions in English.
  • ECG/EKG - Basic Arrhythmia Certification.
  • American Heart Association BLS for Health Care Provider
  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Successful completion of Scripps Health EKG Examination (during interview).
     
Preferred Qualifications:
  •  Basic Computer skills preferred.
