The Gluck Child Care Center was established in 1993 to provide child care services to the employees of Scripps Health and The Scripps Research Institute.  Gluck Child Care Center serves children ages 3 months to 6 years of age in eight age-appropriate classrooms. he program is staffed by fully-qualified, accomplished teachers. Parents are always welcome and encouraged to visit. Their philosophy of education is to provide an integrated curriculum in which imagination and self-expression flourish.
 
As Teacher, you will be responsible for the care and developmental needs of young children. You will supervises children and assigned Substitute Teacher's Assistants. You must have knowledge of Title 22 Department of Social Services Child Development Division 12 Regulations.

Job Requirements

Experience/Specialized Skills:
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, twelve (12) semester units in college level Child Development and/or Early Childhood Education as defined by California state licensing regulations.
  • An Infant Teacher (working with children under 2 years of age) must have at least 3 semester units related to the care of infants.
  • Six (6) months of work experience in a licensed child care program.
  • Must be able to lift a child weighing up to 50 lbs., visually supervise children playing, hear a child's call for help, and respond physically to a child's needs.

Required Certification/Registration:
  • Infant and Child CPR BLS through AHA.

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
  • B.A./A.A. Degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education.
  • 2 years of experience in a child care setting working with young children ages 3 months to 6 years of age.
  • Knowledge of Piaget's Child Development theory with ability to articulate and practice theory.
