Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas serves the communities of San Diego’s coastal North County.  We offer a full range of clinical and surgical services, including North County’s first Primary Stroke Center, a regionally recognized brain injury program, state-of-the-art imaging center, 24-hour emergency room care and award-winning OB-GYN, maternal health and infant health services.
We invite you to join our highly engaged team in the Surgery department.  Our Surgical Techs ensure operating rooms are ready for surgery, including all case-specific supplies and equipment are sterile and ready for use. You will monitor for a sterile field throughout procedure, scrub for cases as well as anticipate the needs of the physician and operating team. You will also take the initiative to utilize appropriate support services to resolve issues. You will position and transport patients as needed as well as  organize room cleanup and ensure efficient room turnover, including decontaminating equipment as necessary.
This is a casual (per diem) 8-hour, varied shift position.   

Job Requirements

  • One year of recent experience as a Surgical Technologist or completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist training program.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Able to multi-task and work well in a team environment.
  • Detail oriented and able work well in a fast-paced, high stress environment.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider  
Preferred Qualifications
  • CST Preferred
