Provides leadership, education and coordination for all campus security and parking operations. Duties provide a safe and secure environment for patients, employes, visitors, medical staff, and hospital property. Must maintain discretion concerning the confidential nature of patient and hospital information. Complies with The Joint CommissonTitle XXII and other regulations. Responsible for reviewing daily security logs and security incident reports that are generated by their shift. Administer certifications, education and security reports as well as provide other administrative tasks. Displays a work style that is supportive of the security management team. Practices a work style that reflects the mission, philosophy and goals of the organization. This work is accomplished under the direction of the Manager.
 
This is a Full Time position, located at our Scripps Mercy Chula Vista campus.

Job Requirements

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
  • Must have two years successful work experience which required duties of the position to be carried out independently.
  • Must have excellent verbal skills, good writing skills. Must be bondable and have a valid California drivers license.
  • High school graduate.
  • Additional training in Environment of Care EOC hospital training including but not limited tofire safety, Hazmat and Security..
Required Certification/Registration:
  • Must have two years successful work experience which required duties of the position to be carried out independently.
  • Within 90 days of employment must complete the required training in Attitudes and Communication Techniques - Scripps Mercy Aggression Reduction Training ACT SMART, American Heart Association BLS certification and IAHSS International Association of Healthcare Security & Safety.
  • Within six months of employment must complete California State Guard Card through Bureau of Security and Investigative Services, and Certified Advanced Training through International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety.
  • Within one year of employment must complete Certified Supervisor Training through International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety.
