The Birth Pavilion at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas is designated Baby Friendly.  Performing around 160 deliveries per month with 18% being C-Section, we are proud of offer 24/7 OB Hospitalists and Anesthesia support for our patients.
As Supervisor, Patient Care (RN) for Maternal Child Health, you will ensure nursing practice reflects established standards of care and practice and a culture that promotes patient safety. Under the general direction of the Director, Patient Care, you will share leadership responsibilities for the nursing unit, including managing daily staffing plans. You will adherence to care processes for bed placement/patient transfer/patient transport/room cleaning and patient discharge.
Additionally, you will play an integral role in adhering to evidence based practice and stands of care for patients through the continuum of care.  This includes active participation of nursing staff in planning and coordinating patient care.
This is a Full Time, Salaried, Day shift position.  (80 hours per pay period)

Job Requirements

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
  • Two years applicable RN experience in labor and delivery.
  • One of which in a leadership role.
  • Requires excellent skills in communication, problem-solving, team development, planning and follow-through.
  • Ability to exercise the authority and responsibility for assigned services based on the scope of the organization and complexity of patient care.
  • Graduate of an accredited program.

Required Certification/Registration:
  • Maintains current California RN license.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider.
  • NPR required. 
  • Fetal Monitoring required.
 Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
  • BSN and/or certification in area of specialty.
  • Epic working experience preferred.
