The Food and Nutrition Services Supervisor oversees, coordinates and supervises the operation of Food and Nutrition Services. Ensures compliance with Food Safety requirements. Ensures standards of customer service, infection control/sanitation, safe food handling, volume food production, menu development, meal assembly, portion control, inventory management, and food service equipment are met.
This is a Full Time position with Varied shifts located at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla.

Job Requirements

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
  • High school diploma or equivalent plus three years experience in food services, one of which is with leadership responsibilities.
  • Able to speak, read and write English.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Complex problem solving, team development, strategic planning and systems planning/development.
  • Knowledge of computer word processing and spreadsheets.
Required Certification/Registration:
  • Food Safety Certificate (ServSafe or equivalent).
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
  • Associate or Bachelors degree in related field.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Dietary Services Supervisor or Certified Dietary Manager certification.
