As Sr Dir, Research & Financial Admin, you will conduct Clinical Trials.  You will reviews all contracts, indemnifications, and contract budgets. Ensure compliance to minimum institutional standards and rate structure. Secures senior executive authorizations as appropriate. Direct the design and implementation of clinical trial business data bases. Monitor contract receipts, audits study financial accounts, facilitate expenditures processing, and interacts with Finance as required on fiscal policies and practices. 

Additionally, you will negotiate with trial sponsors on contractual and budgetary concerns as necessary or as requested by investigators. Direct Research support of the Scripps Office for the Protection of Research Subjects. Staff Supervision.  Manage clinical trial staffing and personnel assigned in various divisions and regional sites. Manage Research support staff and supervisors. Manages consortium staffing. Directly manages 100 direct reports through five subordinate supervisors pertaining to employment, performance review, discipline and HR administration. Research Innovation Committee (RIC).  Review all RIC documents, indemnifications, and contract budgets. Ensure compliance to minimum consortium standards and rate structures. Secure senior executive authorization as appropriate. Direct the design and implementation of RIC. 

Be responsible for monitoring contact receipts, audits study financial accounts, facilitates expenditure processing, and interacts with RIC Chair as required on fiscal policies and practices. Negotiate with trial sponsors on contractual and budgetary concerns as necessary or as requested. Philanthropic Grant Program.  Review and approves all grant protocols and budgets submitted to TSRI and the Scripps Medical Foundation. Ensure compliance to minimum institutional standards and policies. Secure senior administrative authorization where required. Manage funding receipts, audits grant accounts, facilitates expenditure processing and interacts with SH Finance as required on policies and practices. Monitors endowment proceeds and donation receipts for accurate crediting and routing. Negotiates with SH administrators and senior executives on policy and budgetary policies as required or requested.
 
This is a Full Time Sr Dir position located in La Jolla.

Job Requirements

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare, accounting, finance, or business administration.
  • Five (5) years of experience in multi-specialty physician compensation administration and modeling.
  •  Working knowledge of contract research administration, protocol budgeting, research billing for patient services, FDA/DHHS Institutional Review Board requirements and contract negotiation.
  • Proficient in computer-assisted processes and programs with the ability to quantify and illustrate complex financial reports, comparisons, impacts and/or projections.
  •  Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and work effectively within a diverse organization.

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
  • Master's Degree.
