Job Description

Scripps is a leader in the use of technology for rehabilitation, incorporating high tech treatment modalities into our inpatient and outpatient therapy programs.
 
We provide the entire spectrum of inpatient and outpatient physical rehabilitation services, ranging from general rehabilitation care — including physical therapy and speech therapy — to distinctive specialty programs such as our acute inpatient rehabilitation center for stroke, brain and spinal cord injuries; our brain injury day treatment program; a state-of-the-art voice therapy and swallowing therapy center; and a certified sports therapy program used by elite athletes.
 
Why join our Mercy Speech Therapy Team? You will have the opportunity to work a full scope of Acute Care, to include ICU. Our Speech Pathologists also routinely perform instrumental studies, such as MBS and FEES.
You will provide evaluation, assessment, prognosis, treatment and education to patients and clients through a continuum of care according to the therapist's respective licensure/registration/certification, Code of Ethics, Federal/State regulations, JCAHO/UMQC and Care Center policies and procedures. Performs competencies as outlined in unit specific competency assessment tools. Demonstrates age specific care as established for area and job title.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:
 
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Licensed Speech Pathologist
  • Current California Speech Licensure
  • BLS American Heart Association
  • Must be able to have a variety of problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills with internal and external customers
  • Working a minimum of 4 shifts a month, including a minimum of 2 weekends is required
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Acute Care experience
  • MBS Proficiency
