We invite you to join our team as a Speech Language Pathologist in the Speech Therapy department at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla. This is a Level II Trauma facility and comprehensive stroke center, where you will gain experience with patients from ICU to out-patients. This department stands out for their collaborative team approach with each case which cultivates a supportive environment for both our therapists as well as our patients.

The Speech Pathologist provides evaluation, assessment, prognosis, treatment and education to patients and clients through a continuum of care according to the therapist's respective licensure/registration/certification, Code of Ethics, Federal/State regulations, JCAHO/UMQC and Care Center policies and procedures. They perform competencies as outlined in unit specific competency assessment tools, and demonstrate age specific care as established for area and job title.

This is a Casual (Per-diem) position working both weekdays and weekends and is primarily located at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla.

Job Requirements

  • California Speech Language Pathologist License
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider certification from American Heart Association
Preferred Experience:
  • At least 1 year of Acute Care experience as a Speech Language Pathologist
