We are seeking a compassionate, motivated Social Worker to join our team at Scripps Green Cancer Center located in the beautiful Torrey Pines area. Scripps is now partnering with the MD Anderson Cancer Center and we need a new Social Worker to join our diverse team to help provide our community with the highest quality of care.
 
The Social Worker at Scripps provide an important role within the hospital by assisting patient and families with personal and environmental problems which predispose illness or which interfere with their obtaining maximum benefits from medical care. Provides peer supervision for other staff, education for social work interns and/or assists with program planning and organization of services. Demonstrates ability to perform competencies as outlined in unit specific competency assessment tools. Demonstrates age specific care as established for a Clinical Social Worker in assigned area. 
 
This is a Full Time, 8 hour day shift position located at the Scripps Green Cancer Center in the La Jolla Torrey Pines area. (80 hours per bi-weekly pay period)

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:
 
  • Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited University/College
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider American Heart Association
  • Working knowledge of the laws, regulations, policies and appeal procedures as relative to the Federal, State and other reimbursement programs
  • Must be able to display good working relationships with patients, families, medical and nursing personnel, and all others employed at the hospital
 
Preferred Qualifications:
 
  • Oncology experience or Acute Care Hospital experience
  • LCSW (Licensed by the State of CA Behavioral Science Examiners Board)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including but not limited to Outlook, Excel
