Job Description

Provides oversight and contract management of outsourced transcription services. Develops and implements processes to improve clinical documentation and coding at Scripps Hospitals. Coordinates and provides oversight for centralized Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC), retrospective DRG and APC audits.Provide strategic direction oversight and industry expertise to ensure compliance to regulatory and statutory requirements while ensuring that the Enterprise is fairly and accurately compensated for the services provided to its patients and the community at large. Oversight and accountability for system wide health information services to include release of information coding assembly scanning quality assurance electronic health record Joint Commission preparedness, and any other relevant components of Enterprise Coding/CDI/HIM/ROI.

Job Requirements

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills: Bachelors of Science or Arts.  5 years of health information management plus 5 years of progressive level of multi-hospital system management responsibility including operations redesign and project management. Knowledge of Federal/State/County/Commercial Insurance Payers requirements and legislative requirements.

Required Certification/Registration: RHIA Certificate.

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification: Masters in Business Healthcare Administration and Finance preferred. Charge Master and coding experience. Understanding of charge capture.  Epic experience highly preferred.
