We invite you to join our highly engaged team of nurses in the Scripps Medical Foundation Triage department. This is a telephonic nurse triage position that works with Scripps and non-Scripps patients to be able to provide the appropriate level of care. The position also involves coordination of care within the various Scripps locations.

The RN – Access is responsible for ensuring that Scripps patients and their families have an exceptional health care experience. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. Patient care includes compliance with patient assessments and care tasks, triaging, completion of clinical procedures, emergency protocols and medication administration. Works collaboratively with the other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.

This is a full-time (80 hours per pay period), 8-hour shift position with varied shifts, and includes rotating weekends and holidays.




Job Requirements

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
  • Completion of accredited RN program
Required Certification/Registration:
  • Current California RN license.
  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS.
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
  • At least two (2) years of RN experience in an acute care setting or ED, Urgent Care, Cardiology, Pulmonology, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics.
  • Prefer minimum of one year of experience in telephone triage.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse patient population
  • Knowledge of Epic
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word
