The Respiratory Therapist will be joining the Pulmonary Function Services team, servicing our clinics. The department is centralized at the Anderson Medical Pavilion on the campus of Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla and also services the clinic locations in Torrey Pines and Rancho Bernardo.

The Respiratory Therapist will be joining a team of 5, working with 8 pulmonologists across the clinics. The Respiratory Therapist will be exposed to a variety of outpatient testing and should be comfortable moving between multiple tests. In collaboration with other caregivers, assesses, plans, implements and evaluates actions for respiratory care. Performs all technical diagnostic and therapeutic procedures related to respiratory care. Performs other core responsibilities necessary to maintain the flow of patient care and comfort inthe unit. Responds to critical situations. Utilizes computer systems in perfoming position duties. Adheres to Hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Participates in Quality Control, preventative maintenance and performance improvement activities. The team has built a strong relationship with the physicians and are trusted and able to work with a high level of autonomy.

This is a full time position with day shifts, generally 7:30am-4:30pm and no weekends.

Job Requirements

  •  Excellent interpersonal skills. Enjoys working with the public.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and follow instructions in English.
  • Technically competent in the department skills inventory. Computer literate.
  • Current California RCP license
  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification

  • One or more years acute care or clinic experience.
  • Graduate of one or two year AMA School of Respiratory Care
