We invite you to join our highly engaged team of Registered Nurses in the Site Based Float Pool.  Thriving in an environment where teamwork and leadership support is strong, our nurses support excellence in patient and family-centered care, providing high quality nursing care to the Maternal Child Health units at the Scripps Mercy San Diego and Chula Vista hospitals.  
The RN is responsible for  providing direct patient care within the scope of his/her practice. Patient care includes assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care and evaluating patients' progress towards expected outcomes. With quality patient and family-centered care in mind, the RN takes primary responsibility for the patients' care as delivered by the Care Team under his/her supervision. Works collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.
*This is a casual (per diem), night shift position with the Site Based Float Pool, expected to float between the  Maternal Child Health units at Scripps Mercy San Diego and Scripps Mercy Chula Vista.

Job Requirements

Required Experience/Specialized Skills: 
  • At least 1 year of RN experience within a Mother/baby Post-Partum Unit
  • Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors.
Required Certification/Registration: 
  • Current CA RN License
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • NRP certification
Required Education/Course(s)/Training:
  • Registered nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
