Job Description

Works collaboratively with system wide resource team to ensure provision of supplemental staffing services in accordance with philosophy and expectations of System Wide Resource Services. Provides direct patient care within the scope of his/her practice, in accordance with hospital policies and in accordance with standards of nursing practice. Functions under the oversight of the respective service/department as assigned. Patient care includes assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care, and evaluating patient’s progress towards expected outcomes. The RN takes primary responsibility for the patients care as delivered by the Care Team under his/her supervision and works collaboratively to ensure optimal patient care. They must demonstrate a willingness to be flexible, be team focused and have the ability to work independently in challenging and fluid clinical environments. These are the two (2) types of opportunities we offer:
 
System Wide Float Team - Permanent Scripps employees who support the day-to-day and short-term assignments.
 
System Wide Resource Team - Permanent Scripps employees who support long-term assignments, typically 12 weeks in duration.

Job Requirements

Experience/Specialized Skills: RN licensed to practice in the state of California. Minimum Qualifications (REQUIRED): Must have two years of recent bedside adult ED experience (cannot have been away from the bedside more than 1 month) as an RN in specific specialty area. BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications for Health Care Provider from the American Heart association required by start date. Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English, excellent interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications: 6 months previous experience as a travel, registry or float RN strongly preferred. BSN preferred. Three years RN ED experience strongly preferred. Certification within specialty, i.e., CCRN, CEN or AORN; Preceptor experience.
 
Required Certification/Registration: Current California Registered Nursing (RN) license. Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, PALS prior to start.

Required Education/Course(s)/Training: Registered nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
