This is a fast paced, 36 bed DOU unit.  The RN is responsible for providing direct patient care within the scope of his/her practice.  Patient care includes assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care and evaluating patients' progress towards expected outcomes.  The RN takes primary responsibility for the patients' care as delivered by the Care Team under his/her supervision.  You will work collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.

This is a Full Time benefited, 12 hour Night Shift, position located at our Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista in the heart of San Diego’s South Bay Community.

Job Requirements

Required Criteria
  • One year recent RN experience in an acute care setting
  • Current CA State RN license (or willingness to obtain)
  • American Heart Association BLS certification
  • American Heart Association ACLS certification
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and follow instructions in English
  • Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors
Preferred Criteria       
  • At least one year experience in a DOU or Stepdown Unit
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
