Registered Nurse (RN) - Clinical Mentor -  Medical Surgical Unit

This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable in a fast-paced environment and is open and flexible to changes created by our lean processes. As a Clinical Mentor you will function primarily as an RN with additional duties. Responsibility for assigned patients during RN relief periods. You will work collaboratively and educationally with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care. You will provide education and guidance of Registered Nurses regarding the nursing process, critical thinking, accountability for the plan of care and it's relation to patient outcomes, and communication/collaboration with all team members. You will function as a clinical expert, role model, mentor and resource in a designated practice area. You will work collaboratively with the Charge Nurse, Educator and Manager of that area to develop a learning environment for the caregivers, as well as to provide a service and care oriented environment for the patients.
 
This position is a Full Time  (72 hours per pay period) night shift with benefits.

 

Job Requirements

Required Experience/Education/Specialized Skills/Qualifications:
  • Three (3) years of recent RN experience of which two (2) years are in MS
  • Current CA RN License.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA) and NIHSS
  • Ability to speak, read, and follow instructions in English.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors.
 
Preferred Experience/Education/Specialized Skills/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing
