Scripps Green offers a wide range of clinical and surgical services, including organ transplantation, oncology care, cardiothoracic and orthopedic surgery, interventional cardiology and blood and bone marrow transplantation.

 

Join our dynamic, fast-paced 32 bed Scripps Green Hospital Definitive Observation, Stroke and Neuro Stepdown unit.  As an RN Clinical Mentor, you will function primarily as an RN with additional mentor responsibilities. You will take responsibility for assigned patients during RN relief periods and work collaboratively and educationally with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care. You will also be an educational resource and guide for the team of Registered Nurses regarding the nursing process, critical thinking, accountability for the plan of care and it's relation to patient outcomes, and communication/collaboration with all team members.  The RN Clinical Mentor functions as a clinical expert, role model, mentor and resource for in the designated practice area.  You will work collaboratively with the Charge Nurse, Educator and Manager to develop a learning environment for the caregivers, as well as a service, outcome and care oriented environment for the patients.

 

This is a Full Time, 12 hour, Day Shift, (0.9 FTE - 72 hours per pay period) position with benefits.


 

Job Requirements



Required Qualifications:

  • Registered nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing
  • Three (3) years experience as an RN in DOU or similar unit such as Stepdown or PCU
  • Active California Registered Nurse License
  • Current American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider certification
  • Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English
  • Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors




Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing
  • Previous Charge Nurse or Nurse Educator experience
  • ACLS
  • NIHSS
