The Scripps Emergency Nursing Training Program is a 12 week program that facilitates the transition of an experienced RN with varied clinical background, to an advanced beginner Emergency Nurse.  The program utilizes four teaching modalities: an online educational component developed by The Emergency Nursing Association, lectures by expert speakers who generalize the didactic to the bedside, hands-on skills and simulation learning, as well as clinical orientation with trained preceptors in the Emergency Departments across the system.  As a result of this program, nurses are supported as they develop knowledge and skills to care for the challenging and varied population of patients that seek care in the Emergency Department setting. The classroom portion is system-wide, positions and clinical training are site based. 


Positions are available at Scripps Mercy San Diego and Scripps La Jolla.

 
Selected applicants will be offered a full-time position at either Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego or Scripps La Jolla Hospital EDs.  The training program is 12 weeks in length from 2/19/19 - 5/11/19.  Upon successful completion of the program, selected applicants will then assume a full-time night shift position on their unit. 


Must be available to begin employment with Scripps on 2/4/19 for orientation.

Interviews: 12/17/18
Hire Date with Scripps: 2/4/19
Program State Date: 2/19/19

Job Requirements


Basic Qualifications:
  • Current California RN license
Minimum Qualifications:
  • One year recent  RN experience in an acute care setting.
  • BLS for Health Care Provider, ACLS, and PALS from the American Heart Association required by start date. 
  • Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English, excellent interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • BSN preferred
