The Registered Dietitian provides medical nutrition therapy and nutrition care to all patients utilizing technical skills in an acute care, skilled nursing, and or outpatient setting. Skills include clinical assessment, screening for nutritional risk, developing, implementing, and monitoring a nutrition care plan, education, and follow up. Provides service to patients of all ages from pediatrics to geriatrics. Compliance to JCAHO Standards, Title XXII, and other applicable regulatory requirements. Demonstrates ability to provide appropriate age specific patient care as established for environment and job title.
 
This position is Casual and located at Scripps Memorial La Jolla.

Job Requirements


Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
  • Bachelors degree or Masters in Food Nutrition.
Required Certification/Registration:
  • Registered Dietitian through the Commission of Dietetic Registration or signed verification statement confirming completion of supervised practice program.
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
  • One of the following specialty certifications preferred:
    1. Certified Nutrition Support Clinician CNSC
    2. Certified Diabetes Educator CDE Board Certified Specialist in Renal Nutrition CSR
    3. Board Certified Specialist in Oncology Nutrition CSO
    4. Board Certified Specialist in Gerontological Nutrition CSG
