Job Description

Provides medical nutrition therapy and nutrition care to all patients utilizing technical skills in an acute care, skilled nursing, and or out patient setting. Skills include clinical assessment, screening for nutritional risk, developing, implementing, and monitoring a nutrition care plan, education, and follow up. Provides service to patients of all ages from pediatrics to geriatrics. Compliance to JCAHO Standards, Title XXII, and other applicable regulatory requirements. Demonstrates ability to provide appropriate age specific patient care as established for environment and job title.
The types of opportunities we offer are as follows:

SYSTEM WIDE FLOAT TEAM - Permanent Scripps employees who support the day-to-day and short-term assignments.
Seeking casual and part-time staff on day shift.

Job Requirements

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:  Bachelor's degree or Masters in Food/Nutrition.  One (1) year of recent Registered Dietitian experience within an acute care hospital setting.

Required Certification/Registration: Registered Dietitian through the Commission of Dietetic Registration or signed verification statement confirming completion of supervised practice program. 

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification: One of the following specialty certifications preferred:  Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC), Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE), and Board Certified Specialist in Renal Nutrition (CSR), Board Certified Specialist in Oncology Nutrition (CSO), and Board Certified Specialist in Gerontological Nutrition (CSG)

Travel Requirements:  Work between the five (5) Scripps Health hospital campuses: Encinitas, La Jolla, Torrey Pines, San Diego, and Chula Vista.
