We are seeking a Radiation Physicist at our Scripps Clinic location in Vista. As part of our dynamic team, you will participate in all aspects of the operation of the physics services, and must be detail oriented when calibrating and QA testing our equipment to ensure accurate performance. The ideal candidate is both a strong communicator and enthusiastic about learning to use the latest technology to provide quality patient care.
 
Under the supervision of the Director of Radiation Oncology, The Radiation Physicist delivers the planned course of radiation therapy, calculates dosage, documents all treatments, set-up instructions, measurements and photos. Responsible for treatment planning and radiation therapy according to the physician's orders. Oversees the radiation therapists and assists the Director as assigned. Ability to perform competencies as outlined in Radiation Oncology Competency Assessment tools. Demonstrates age-specific care as established for area and job title.
 
This is full-time (80 hours per pay period) working primarily Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend and evening hours as needed. The position is primarily located at the Scripps Clinic in Vista, but may also work at Scripps Encinitas Radiation Therapy Clinic.

Job Requirements

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
  • Degree in Radiological Medical Physics or related field
  • Recent experience working in complex environments, experience with MOSAIQ, ARIA, and Varian equipment preferred
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
  • DABY Certified
  • ABR or ABMP board certified
  • 1-2 years of clinical experience
  • Experience in the BrainLab/ExacTrac
